After decades of envisioning and designing beautiful, timeless structures, we realized we had a story we needed to share with the world. We set out to make a film that encapsulated the reason why we do what we do. We wanted people to experience our structures and appreciate how they’re designed from the inside out to make an experience for them. That’s what Life in Place® is all about. It isn’t just something we did. It’s who we are.

The Blueprint
Like buildings, every film has a blueprint. We did some serious soul-searching at the outset of this project. We put our heads together and ignited conversations about what we represent, what we want to strive for and why it all matters. Those conversations led to this script - the ultimate blueprint of our soul and our process.

The Cast
We know that ours is a distinctly human story. Every design decision we make is done with people in mind. Each of these characters represent the people we create for, and the type of life we create for them with lucid, intentional design.
Brick By Brick
How do you make a beautiful structure? How do you transform empty space into something intricately useful for the people inside it? How do you design Life in Place®?
Our answer is to do it with a pen in one hand and a calculator in the other. We’re pragmatic artists for our clients. Wildly expressive, yet fundamentally practical. That spirit drove this project. We balanced budgetary realities with unflinching artistry. From scriptwriting and storyboarding to the final cut, we took what we knew about ourselves and put together the DAVIS story.
